Holistic Review Q: questions & answers on natural health & alternative medicine.

Everyone has their own health questions.

Q1. Is it necessary to take vitamins and supplements?

A. Human life evolved without supplements, just as the vegetables of a garden evolved without fertilizer. However, if you believe in using fertilizer for the best garden, then you should consider supplements for the best health. It is a similar situation.

Q2. Why does Holistic Review seem to emphasize pills? Aren't there other ways to be healthy?

A. Natural supplement pills are not perfect but they work. Taking pills is something that everyone can do. Even if you have the time to do other things, a few supplement pills can greatly increase the value of whatever you are doing.

Q3. Isn't it dangerous to take too many pills?

A. This depends on what is in the pills. Swallowing six empty pills is certainly not dangerous. Also, if you grind up some rice and put that in one such pill, and grind up some egg and put that in another pill, and do the same for onion, celery, chili and vegetable oil, this makes 6 full pills which are still not dangerous. These also are the ingredients for fried rice, which also is not dangerous. Many supplements are quite similar. Some supplements are stronger and should be taken with caution. However, many people take just as many prescription drugs. Drugs are certainly more dangerous, and we believe you are more likely to need drugs if you do not take supplements. Pills, in general, are sort of like snakes. Drugs are like poisonous snakes, which only an expert must handle. Supplements are like non-poisonous snakes. They can frighten your friends, and they deserve respect. However with just a bit of understanding, anyone can handle them safely.
